Introducción
La
Church of the Lord (Aladura) es una comunidad ecuménica. La Iglesia es
consciente de su tradición religiosa y cultural y de su deber de divulgar el
evangelio por todos los ángulos y rincones del mundo.
La
palabra “Aladura”, proveniente del Yoruba (un idioma de la parte sudoeste de
Nigeria) significa comunidad de oración. Los
principios de la Iglesia se pueden describir con pocas palabras: bíblicamente
ejemplar, poderosamente de sentido pentecostés, espiritual, evangelista y
exclusivamente ecuménico (vivir según dicta la Biblia y la idea pentecostés,
con espíritu evangelista y de
forma ecuménica). De esta auto descripción se desprende que la Church of the
Lord (Aladura) tiene el compromiso de mantener la tradición cristiana-pentecostés.
Está provista de carácter carismático para la comunidad, por lo que
absolutamente se puede llamar una comunidad carismática-pentecostés. La Church
of the Lord (Aladura) denomina su culto como empresa espiritual. El fundamento sólido
de la Iglesia está basado en amor, confianza y esperanza hacia Dios, tres
conceptos valiosos e importantes en los que se orientan las actividades
de la comunidad. Todos los
seguidores de esta Iglesia los respetan y practican esta virtud.
La
Church of the Lord (Aladura), conocida a nivel mundial, con sede principal en
Ogere-Remo, Estado de Ogun (Nigeria) fue fundada en 1930.

General Assembly held
in Nairobi, Kenya.

in Nairobi, Kenya.

In 1978, The Church of the Lord (Aladura) became a member
the Organisation of African Independent (Initiated) Churches (OAIC), in
Cairo, Egypt.

In 1979, The Church of the Lord (Aladura) became a member
of the British Council of Churches (BCC).

In 1979, The Church of the Lord (Aladura) became a member
of the Nigerian Association of Aladura Churches (NAAC), with late Dr. E. O.
A. Adejobi becoming the Life President on the 24th October, 1981.

In 1984, The Church of the Lord (Aladura) became a member
of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

In 1988, The Church of the Lord (Aladura) became a member
of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN).

In 1993, The Church of the Lord (Aladura) became a member
of the International Ministerial Council of Great Britain (IMCGB).

In 1994, The Church of the Lord (Aladura) became a
founding member of the International Ministerial Council of Germany (IMCOG).

The Church of the Lord (Aladura) is also a member of the
Afro-Carribean Churches in the U.K. (ACCUK).

In 1996, The Church of the Lord (Aladura) hosted a WCC
Consultative Meeting with African Instituted Churches at the Training
Conference Centre (TCC), Ogere Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria.

In 1999, The Church of the Lord (Aladura) became a
founding member of the Council of African Christian Communities in Europe (CACCE).
|
 |
In 1999, The Church of the Lord (Aladura) became a
founding member of the International Convent of Christian Congregations,
Rhein-Main, Germany (ICCCRG).
